The Ed Elslager Hybridizers' Group

The Ed Elslager Hosta Hybridizer's Group is open to the public. We celebrate and enjoy the hybridization of the genus hosta. Please come and experience unusual and one of a kind hybrids, in addition to fun camaraderie and interesting presentations and events. We break for a brown bag lunch mid-meeting. Some members bring food to share. Meetings are held in room 125 at:

All meetings are from 10:00AM to 200PM. The 2018 schedule for the Hybridizers' Group is as follows:

June 3 Breeding Stock Exchange, Ed Elslager and Tiny Tot Seedling Competitions and Lisa Quiggle’s Presentation on Cloners

July 22 Hosta Leaf Show and 1:00PM Annual Plant Auction

November 4 The Annual Seed Exchange and Don Rawson’s Presentation on “Hybridizing for Leaf Substance”

PARKING: Please park only in designated parking areas, which are identified by numbered spaces at the main entrance to the lobby/conservatory and in the west parking lot. Parking cost is $1.50 per hour, with a $5 maximum per day. Parking pay kiosks accept credit cards, bills, and coins. Matthaei-Nichols members park for free. Follow instructions on kiosk to enter space number then member number.

MEMBER DUES: $10 for 3 years, payable at the meeting or by mail. You do not need to be a member to attend.
